Ever watched ‘Courage The Cowardly Dog’? That cartoon with the goofy dog who looks foolish and cowardly at the first glance, but eventually manages to get rid of all the ghosts and boogeymen haunting ‘nowhere’.
This was my favorite cartoon as a child, and perhaps even now.
Courage The Cowardly Dog – the name is an oxymoron. But it matches the dog’s personality well. It sounds funny how the old lady Muriel calls him ‘Courage’ when he is just so freaked out the whole time! And whenever there is a trouble, he consults his condescending computer.
This cartoon is a strange reminder that it is okay to be cowardly! Yes! It is completely fine to be a coward – unless, of course, it gets the better of you. One can always get over cowardice, gradually, eventually, and emerge victorious. Each one of us has the ability to overcome cowardice. It just requires a bit of ‘courage’! (No pun intended!)
And our lives are definitely easier than Courage’s!
Let’s end this with the classic Eustace dialogue : “Stupid dog! You made me look bad!”
Well, looks like the dog was not that stupid!
