LIKE LAYERS OF ONIONS

I may not be what I seem
in mere plain sight.
Maybe I have much more to myself,
hidden even from me,
invisible, forbidden,
in the deepest recesses of the soul.

At least, that is how I feel.

Like Layers of onions,
Some mere peels of character and nature
are to be discarded, abandoned, shunned.
But some are valuable enough
to be added to the recipe of life

At least, that is how I feel.

And I am not alone
concealed within layers.
Everyone is, as, it is not easy to decipher
all at the very first glance.
